Effective Date: September 17, 2026
1. About These Terms
Home 2 Taiwan ("H2TW", "we", "us") is a Kaohsiung-based community dedicated to empowering Filipino migrants and students in Taiwan. These Terms of Service apply to our website at home2tw.org and to the member platform behind it (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, or by creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Who Can Use the Services
- Anyone may read our public pages, stories and event listings.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a community member account.
- If you register a partner account, you confirm that you are authorised to act for the organisation you name.
3. Your Account
- Give us accurate information, and update it if it changes.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One account per person.
- We may pause, reject or close an account that breaks these Terms, gives false information, or puts other members at risk.
- You can close your account at any time by contacting us (see section 16).
4. Community Membership and Volunteering
- Community membership is free.
- Volunteering is optional. You choose whether to be available for volunteer work, and you can switch it off at any time from your profile.
- You may accept or decline any task or assignment. If you accept one and can no longer do it, please let us know as early as you can.
- Volunteering is unpaid and does not create an employment relationship. Volunteering with H2TW does not make you our employee, agent or contractor, and we are not a job placement or recruitment service.
- You are responsible for making sure your participation is consistent with any conditions attached to your residence or employment in Taiwan.
5. Events and Program Registration
- Signing up for an event or program does not guarantee a place. Some have limited capacity, and some need our approval first.
- We may change, postpone or cancel an event. When we do, we will try to tell registered participants in good time.
- Information you give in a registration form is used as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Messages and Community Conduct
Our platform lets members message each other and share files. When you use it, you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against anyone;
- share another person's personal information, photos or documents without their permission;
- send spam, advertising, or requests for money;
- post anything unlawful, sexually explicit, or intended to mislead;
- pretend to be someone else, including an H2TW organiser or partner;
- upload files you do not have the right to share, or files that contain malware.
We may remove messages or files that break these rules, and pause or close the account involved.
Our messages are not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call 110 (police) or 119 (fire and ambulance) in Taiwan. For problems at work, the Ministry of Labor's foreign worker hotline is 1955.
7. Content You Share
- You keep ownership of what you upload, such as your profile photo, messages and attachments.
- You allow us to store and display that content as needed to run the Services.
- If you send us photos or stories to publish, you allow us to publish them on our website and social media pages, with credit to you where practical.
- You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, and that anyone clearly shown in your photos agrees to it being shared.
8. Scholar Monitoring Program
Parts of the platform are used to support scholars enrolled in our programs. These areas are only for the scholars, counsellors and organisers assigned to them. If you have access as a counsellor or organiser, you agree to keep scholars' information confidential and to use it only to support those scholars.
9. Partner Organisations
- Partners are responsible for the accuracy of the programs and volunteer requests they post.
- Partners who receive volunteers' details may use them only to run the program those volunteers joined.
- Partners are responsible for how they treat the volunteers who work with them.
10. Artwork and Donations
- Sending an inquiry about a gallery artwork is a request, not a purchase. No payment is taken on this website. A sale is agreed only when we confirm it with you directly.
- Prices shown on artworks may change until a sale is confirmed.
- Online donations are not yet available. We will update these Terms before we start accepting them.
11. Our Content and Name
The H2TW name, logo, and the text and images we publish belong to us or to the partners who shared them with us. You are welcome to share links to our stories and to use the share buttons on our pages. Please do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you or your organisation without our written permission.
12. Information, Not Advice
Our stories, events and resources are general information. They are not legal, immigration, employment, medical or financial advice. For your own situation, please contact the relevant authority, such as the 1955 hotline, the Migrant Workers Office, or a qualified professional.
13. Other Websites and Apps
Our pages link to other services, such as Facebook, Instagram and partner websites, and our share buttons open apps on your own device. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
14. Availability and Liability
- We run the Services as a community effort and provide them as they are. We work to keep them available and accurate, but we cannot promise they will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We may change, pause or remove features at any time.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by other members, partners or third-party services.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as our programs change. We will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will also tell members through the platform or by email. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
