the IUSR initiative of

UP Open University

UP VINTA plays a vital role in knowledge generation, scholarly engagement, and institutional partnerships that strengthen the theoretical, policy, and ethical foundations of migration work. It creates space for critical inquiry, research based advocacy, and academic innovation, particularly in the emerging field of cross–border talent circulation that we seek to rationalize using the principles of IUSR.

MOOCs (Free)

UPOU’s MODeL platform provides free and open access to massive open online courses (MOOCs) covering diverse topics such as technology, education, sustainable development and more. Learners worldwide can self-enroll, study at their own pace, and earn digital certificates upon completion.

Micro-credentials

UPOU is developing a roadmap for micro-credentials—short, stackable credentials that validate specialized skills and knowledge aligned with industry and societal needs. These micro-credentials complement full degree programs and offer flexible up-skilling opportunities for learners across borders.

Degree Programs

UPOU offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in fields such as Multimedia Studies, Education Studies, Computer Science, Information Systems, Development Communication, Nursing, Public Management and more. These programs are designed for distance-learning and allow both domestic and international learners to earn recognized qualifications.

Non-formal Courses

These courses include continuing education programs, diplomas, certificates and professional development offerings outside the traditional degree structure. They are open to adult learners, migrants, working professionals, and anyone seeking lifelong learning or up-skilling.

Targeted Training for Migrant Skill Development

H2TW takes on the programmatic and operational role, delivering direct services, mobilizing donations, facilitating upskilling opportunities, and supporting reintegration efforts. In doing so, it serves the same communities that UP VINTA uplifts through its academic and scholarly work.
